The Japan Academic Network in Europe (JANET) is a network of 28 Japanese universities and academic institutions that established offices and laboratories in Europe and actively promote collaboration with European universities and research institutes.

In 2018, the annual JANET forum was organized by Tohoku University and INSA Lyon, a renowned French Engineering School, where the forum took place on November 22nd and 23rd, 2018.
